Short and Sweet! Here are my top 4 Self-care musts that I do for myself everyday.
Breathe
Seems logical right? It would surprise you how often we hold our breath, shallow breath, or limit our openness. Taking time in the AM and PM to just breathe for a few minutes is a must in my day. Especially if I am super busy, this is a fast tool to reset my system. Super cool fact, you can take it anywhere with you!
Skin Care
A luxury and necessary moment in my AM and PM. This has always been a quiet, pampering time for myself now and future me. I’ve loved skin care since I was a kid. It feels special. I even have a self-care rule that no matter how late I’m up, I ALWAYS make sure to take my make-up off before I go to sleep. Not only does my skin thank me, this honestly is a game-changer for my sleep routine as well!
Movement
Any and all movement! Some days look like an hour or two of yoga, pilates, walking, or biking. Other days look like a gentle stretch for 10 min laying on my floor. Lean into what feels right to you. Just remember, movement is nutrients for your bones!
Water
I know, I know. You probably hear this one all the time, and I am going to say it more…drink your water! Seriously, we need hydration for optimal function and health. For me, I love drinking about 60-90 oz of purified water a day. A good rule of thumb is to aim for half your body weight in oz of water per day. If you aren’t currently drinking much, I’d recommend working your way up to this.
Bonus: Sleep
Ideally, 6 hours a day for most people. I like to sleep about 8-9 hours a day at least!
